Vidya Sagar VOBBILISETTI
Researcher at CPPM France
I am a particle physicist at the Belle II experiment in Japan. I study how unstable particles called B mesons decay, particularly rare processes where part of the final state is invisible, carried away by neutrinos. Alongside this physics work, I develop and optimize the software that makes such analyses tractable at scale.
After completing my undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, I earned my PhD from Université Paris-Saclay. Then I worked as a researcher in Valencia and Pisa and currently, I’m now based in Marseille, France, where I enjoy a vibrant scientific community and the Mediterranean lifestyle.
Research Interests
My primary research centers on experimental particle physics, but I’m passionate about several related areas:
- Scientific Computing: Developing computational methods to analyze complex particle physics data,
- History and Philosophy of Science: Exploring how our understanding of has evolved,
- Science Communication: Making complex physics concepts accessible to broader audience.
